Mr. Kevin Richards is a thought leader in climate finance, blue economy, fintech, and international shipping.

A passionate advocate for implementing sustainable business practices to combat the climate crisis, Mr. Richards brings a sustainability mindset to any non-executive Director role, looking at company’s Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. Mr. Richardsis a graduate of theBlack Boardroom Initiative (BBI) led by Perkins Coie & Deloitte, focused on diversifying public company boards and a certified Director and member of the UK’s Institute of Directors (IoD).

Mr. Richards is an experienced Board Director, joining the Bermuda Shipping & Maritime Authority board in 2018 and currently the Chairperson of theBoard Marketing and Finance Committees. Mr. Richards has worked closely with Minister Roban and the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme (BOPP) Implementation Manager on the creation of the Blue Ocean Fund and participated as a member of the Ocean Village working group. He recently was appointed as a Director of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science (BIOS) Board and Zero Hash, a fully licensed digital asset business. He has held the position of Chairperson of ECAB (E-Commerce Advisory Board) to the Bermuda Government Ministry of Economy and Labour, Director of Penrose Partners, Parabolic Digital and Fly Air International, early stage Web3 startups in the blockchain and digital asset sector. Mr. Richards Board experience includesthe Bermuda International Shipping Association (BISA), End to End Bermuda, and the Council Partners Endowment Trust. Additionally, Mr. Richards was the first student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame to be drafted in the Major League Soccer (MLS) Superdraft and has represented the Bermuda national football (soccer) team in two World Cup campaigns.

Mr. Richards currently serves as the Managing Director of Bermuda Asset Management (BAM), providing advisory services to investment funds, family offices, renewable energy, and blue economy businesses. Mr. Richards has strong relationships with the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and brings strategic insights on how to navigate Bermuda's international business sector to drive global growth for clients.

After building a stellar reputation at Chubb andGeneral Electric (GE), Mr. Richardsjoined the Bermuda Business Development Agency (BBDA)in 2015, where he managed international commerce, economic diversification, and technology portfolios for 5-years.Mr. Richards has a unique, global perspective, withexpertise in international finance, insurance, fintech, and Bermuda legislative policy across multiple industry sectors.Mr. Richards now leverages his local and international network to drive transformational change and growth within organizations and investment portfolios. He has developed a personal and business philosophy grounded in an ethical approach to people and relationships and is the Founder and Chairperson of the Bermuda Innovation & Technology Association.
